It happened some days ago, couldn´t say precisely when due to my fish memory but it was during sunset when the orange veil of sun´s light softly hugged the grayish winter clouds over the tiny forest close to the village where I inhabit.

There I was, taking a slow walk along an old and dry riverbed, lost in my thoughts, trying to escape out of worries and bounds when I noticed an ancient cracked tree trunk piercing my way ahead. I could have definately overtake it... I could, but did not.. for some reason...

No matter how hard I try this little nasty guy keeps trying to stab or throw stones to somebody, I guess he just had a hard life lurking behind ruins and feeding of flesh and bones, I guess... Redcaps are hard to domesticate although this little fellow apparently called Maurice seems to be a bit more pleasant than other "nice" comrades of him I met before in my journeys.

One thing is for sure, he´s also a creature of contradictions and always decides two things at the same time. You can never get a clear answer from his lips. He can be wearing two different coloured socks, or none... he can wear a shirt and then change its colour at the very next second... with Impy you never know.

Taking a short walk through the woods I found this little pixie lurking in the weeds.
It has an amazing ability to blend in with the surroundings and extraordinary speed to escape from predators.

Although I lacked the necessary equipment except for my camera, it has been relatively easy to find and engage him in conversation .
Apparently he's tired of living in the same place near the same stream and want to travel and see the world .

One tip, if you find Fÿm around, keep your belongings in a safe place ... especially if you're eating a good cheese sandwich with capers, he loves them !.

Fÿm Fastfingers is a self starter. he will not hesitate to "borrow" each food, material or tool that is useful in any of his countless adventures ... and there are many, believe me.
You will not find in the world a Fae elf, sylph, pixie or kobold quickest, most agile and cunning than Fÿm ... so fast that the wind itself is jealous of his dancing feet that fly rather than run.

Al fin sé quién es el responsable de los ruidos nocturnos en casa, esos cracks, brooom, criiick, toc toc... al principio los achacaba a almas herrantes, fantasmas o poltergeist incluso a algún duendecillo travieso, por supuesto desechando las tan manidas y peregrinas teorías de que se trata de simples dilataciones de la estructura del piso, ¡JA!.

Pero no, jamás se me hubiese imaginado tener a un enano minero ¡entre las paredes! y mira que he visto cosas...

LLega Myrta, la cuidadora goblin...¡ adóptala !

Myrta debe ser sin lugar a dudas la cuidadora brownie más experimentada y querida de todas. Después de que cada familia de brownies haya tenido su camada, las crías son transportadas en un carro destartalado y mugriento hasta el "cuidadero municipal" donde un regimiento de contundentes hembras brownie se encarga de los pequeños hasta que alcanzan la edad suficiente para pasar la prueba de madurez ( más o menos alrededor de los 200 años) en la que los pequeños son puestos en más de un complicado brete donde se evaluará su capacidad para salir airosos en caso de un encuentro fortuito con una criatura humana. Después, una vez hayan superado esta etapa, los pequeños brownies son devueltos a sus familias ( en realidad pocas veces cada cría vuelve a su hogar original ya que la devolución se hace totalmente fortuita y por sorteo, demasiado a menudo debido al resultado de lanzar una moneda al aire).
Entre otras, una de las pruebas más duras y despiadadas que deben afrontar es la carrera de chicles, en la que en cada pie de los pequeños brownies se pega un pegajoso y parsimoniosamente masticado chicle rosa sabor fresa y se insta a los aspirantes a correr en pos de un caracol resfriado... todo un espectáculo no apto para cardíacos.
